Breast thermography Breast thermography assesses physiology and function, therefore it can detect tumors through minute changes in vascular structure, called angiogenesis (the development of new blood vessels). Because they are going through the process of angiogenesis, these tumors and vascular structure emit more heat than normal tissue, making them detectable with a high resolution, highly-sensitive infrared camera.
